The environment
The reason for modifying cars at Arctic Trucks is deeply rooted in our love for the fantastic Icelandic outback. We have always had very strict guidelines to how to negotiate the terrain without harming it or leaving a permanent mark on it. The modified car with its technical improvements and foremost the big wheels and tires are more efficient than an unmodified car when traveling in most off conditions road and therefore using less fuel. Especially in an environment as Antarctica where expeditions mostly have been using belt vehicles it’s a vast improvement to use a modified car.
We believe that if people should traverse these remote and harsh areas it is of the utmost importance to do it in the least harmful way.
