The Antarctica Challenge

We are back in Antarctica!

In 2008 Arctic Trucks modified four Toyota Hilux vehicles which were used as support vehicles in the  “Amundsen Omega 3 Pole Race” to the South Pole which took place in December 2008 to February 2009. The cars also served as support cars for a film crew from BBC which filmed the race and the result from their work was shown in the TV program "On thin ice" on BBC.

Now our guys are back in Antarctica. This time to work on the cars which has been buried in snow in Novo Air Base on Antarctica since last February, but they will also be driving up to the mountains, crossing moving glaciers with lots of crevasse, to prepare some fuel drops. Even though they were in this area just few months ago they will be facing all kinds of difficulties and dangers, since this is an area that is constantly changing.

This web site tells the story about some of the people and the equipment making the race possible, a courageous feat in itself. Our guys will be phoning in on a regular basis and on this web you will be able to read about where they are located and how life is treating them in Antarctica.
